The man disobeyed officers' orders to stay away from Darien Fest, according to a report.
DARIEN, IL – A drunk Darien man who was arrested on a trespassing charge at Darien Fest told officers he was armed, police said.
About 7 p.m. Aug. 13, a Darien Fest organizer informed officers that a man, later identified as Linas Statkauskas, 44, of Darien, was highly intoxicated and walking his dog on the fest's grounds.

Officers told Statkauskas that no dogs were allowed at Darien Fest, which is outside Q Bar, 8109 S. Cass Ave.
Statkauskas told the officers that he would drive home and leave his dog there, according to the report. The officers, who determined that Statkauskas was intoxicated and having trouble keeping his balance, offered to give him a ride home, which he accepted.

About a half hour after Statkauskas got home, officers learned that he was at Darien Fest again. The organizer told the officers she no longer wanted Statkauskas on the fest grounds because he was intoxicated.
When officers told Statkauskas that he was no longer allowed, he explained that his 8-year-old and 11-year-old children were still somewhere at the fest, police said. But after further questioning, he said his wife was with the children. It was unclear where she was.
The police called medics to treat the intoxicated Statkauskas, according to the report. While waiting for the medics, Statkauskas told the officers he was armed, police said. At that point, he was handcuffed. Officers searched Statkauskas and his car for weapons, but could find none.
The medics evaluated Statkauskas, and he signed a refusal for further treatment.
Then Statkauskas was repeatedly reminded that he was not allowed on the fest grounds and would be arrested if he re-entered.
The officers walked away from him, but Statkauskas followed them back toward the fest, according to the report. He was again warned. He kept proceeding behind the officers, prompting his arrest, police said.
Statkauskas was taken to the police station and then released. An officer took him to his home on Warwick Avenue in Darien.
It was unclear how he returned to Darien Fest. His house is about eight-tenths of a mile from Q Bar. Google Maps indicates it is about a 15-minute walk.
