DUIs, Retail Theft: Darien Arrests

Darien Police reports through Feb. 6.

The following items were taken from the Darien police blotter throughout the past week. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Jan. 31

  • Review of video at Speedway, 7502 Cass Ave., showed a man stealing a pakc of cigarettes at 1:17 p.m. The total loss was $7.50.

Feb. 2

  • Pedro Serna-Ramirez, 19, of Westmont, was arrested at 8:20 p.m. at Cass and 75th Street and charged with DUI-alcohol, hit and run, operating uninsured motor vehicle, failure to give aid or information, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Serna-Ramirez was processed, released and given a court date of March 5 at the DuPage County Judicial Center.

Feb. 3

  • Jocelyn Fletcher, 24, of Woodridge, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. at Lemont and Cheese roads and charged with DUI-drugs, felony possession of a controlled substance and improper lane use. Fletcher was processed and taken to DuPage County Jail.

  • Catalin Beres, 31, of Downers Grove, was arrested at 5:47 a.m. at Plainfield and Cass Avenue and charged with driving while license suspended and failure to signal. Beres was processed, released and given a court date of Feb. 21 at DuPage County Judicial Center.
