Dumping Dispute, Purse Theft: Darien Cops

A boss saw an employee on camera dumping the contents of a large trash bag, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their weekly blotter Wednesday. Here is information from the reports:

Illegal dumping

  • A 19-year-old La Grange Park woman was arrested about 1 p.m. Saturday at Carriage Greens Country Club, 8700 Carriage Greens Drive, on a charge of illegal dumping. Police said the owner saw an employee on camera dumping the contents of a large trash bag on the ground and walking away. Officers responded to a dispute over the dumping. The woman was released and given a date to appear in court.

Purse theft

  • A purse was stolen May 8 in the offices of Wight & Co., an architectural firm at 2500 N. Frontage Road. Shortly before noon, an unidentified baseball hat-wearing man was seen entering the building. The victim said the suspect was seen by her desk, where the purse was.

Domestic battery

  • A 61-year-old Darien woman who lives in the 3100 block of Grandview Place was arrested Friday at her house on a charge of domestic battery. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • A 40-year-old Darien man who lives in the 7500 block of Wilton Road was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on charges of DUI, speeding and improper turning. Police said he was speeding 55 mph in a 40 mph zone on southbound Cass Avenue at 71st Street. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
