DuPage County to Discuss Lemont Road Improvements

DARIEN, IL - A public meeting will be held by the DuPage County Division of Transportation to discuss proposed improvements on Lemont Road from 87th Street to 83rd Street in Darien and Woodridge.

The meeting will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on April 20 at Darien City Hall, 1702 Plainfield Road.

According to a release from the county, the project includes adding turn lanes, modernizing traffic signals and creating accommodations for pedestrians and bicyclists. The project will also include pavement resurfacing along Lemont Road between 87th and 83rd streets and along 87th Street west of Lemont Road. The project will require right of way acquisition near both intersections.

At the meeting, exhibits showing the proposed improvements, including areas of additional right-of-way, will be on display and county representatives will be present to answer any questions and record comments.
