The EJH Symphonic Band earned a 1st Division Superior Rating in last weekend's Illinois Grade School Music Association (IGSMA) Festival that was held at McCracken Middle School in Skokie. The students are graded using a rubric to evaluate them on specific criteria. Using that criteria, bands can earn a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd division rating. The 1st division rating is the best rating a band can earn, recognizing that group performs at a “superior” level.
