Excessive Speeding, Hit-And-Run: Darien Cops

Driver was seen going 121 mph down Lemont Road, police say.

DARIEN, IL — Among other incidents in recent days, Darien police arrested a driver who was going 121 mph on Lemont Road, according to a report. Here is information from the latest Darien police blotter.

  • Vicky Rumende, 28, of Westmont, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. May 25 on northbound Lemont Road on charges of speeding, reckless driving and having no insurance. An officer saw Rumende going 121 mph. The car was without a front license plate. Rumende was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Unknown suspects removed medications about 4 p.m. May 22 from a house in the 1500 block of Lakeview Drive.
  • Damian Kadzielawa, 20, of Norridge, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. May 25 on charges of having no driver's license or front plate. An officer saw the suspect's car speeding up and slowing down on Plainfield Road, near 75th Street. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A hit-and-run accident happened about 12:30 p.m. May 26 in the Home Depot parking lot, 2101 75th St. The victim said a Honda truck backed into the victim's car and left by exiting onto 75th Street.
