Felony Retail Theft In Darien: Cops

Man leaves through a side door at Walmart, then caught after pursuit, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is the information from the reports:

Retail theft

  • Kevin Valentine, 37, of Naperville, was arrested about 7 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on two counts of felony theft. According to a police report, a loss prevention employee saw Valentine commit theft and leave the store through a side door. Valentine was chased, and a police officer took him into custody. He was also arrested on two warrants each from Cook and DuPage counties charging retail theft. Another Cook warrant charged him with escaping an electronic monitoring device. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Sarah Bischoff, 26, of Willowbrook, was cited about 2 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. According to a police report, a loss prevention employee noticed Bischoff under-scanning items at the self-checkout lane and putting them into a shopping bag. She was released and given a date to appear in court.

  • Devin Mosely, 25, of Willowbrook, was cited about 9:30 p.m. April 5 on 75th Street on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured vehicle and improper lighting. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Ryan Hamilton, 31, of Darien, was cited April 7 on Lemont Road at 87th Street on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving a vehicle with a suspended registration and driving an uninsured vehicle. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Arnold Cruz Ortiz, 24, of Bolingbrook, was cited about 6:30 p.m. Friday on Cass Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license, improper window tinting and driving an uninsured vehicle. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
