Fleeing Man Falls, Then Caught: Darien Cops

The man tried to get away after he was clocked exceeding the speed limit, police said.

DARIEN, IL – A man running away from officers this week was arrested after he fell, Darien police said.

The 23-year-old Westmont man was charged with resisting and obstructing an officer, fleeing and attempting to elude an officer, and speeding, police said.

About 12:30 a.m. Sunday, an officer clocked the man speeding 67 mph in a 40 mph zone near 75th Street and Cass Avenue, police said.

The officer activated his sirens and lights. But the driver did not stop.

The man pulled into a parking space in the 6700 block of Tudor Lane and ran away, but then he fell, police said.

He was released and given a date to appear in court.
