Garbage Collection Delayed in Darien

Refuse and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day this week because of the heavy weekend snowfall, according to the City of Darien.

The City of Darien Municipal Works employees have begun clearing safety sidewalks, which could take between 12 and 16 hours. All roads are open and passable, according to the city, and plows will continue to clear streets and cul-de-sacs.

Darien residents are asked not to shovel snow into the streets, but to put snow in yards or parkway areas.
