Goers Dental Celebrates Move to Darien

Nearly nine months after opening its doors in Darien, Goers Dental held an open house and ribbon cutting Thursday in honor of the move.

Moments before the ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, sheets of rain began to pour from the sky.

In a way, it was fitting: The great blizzard of 2011 bore down on Darien just two days after the office officially opened its doors at the end of January.

While poor weather has marked two of Goers Dental’s major milestones this year, it’s been nothing but blue skies otherwise, said Dr. Ron Goers.

“We’ve been blessed from above to allow us to be as successful as we’ve been,” Goers said.

City officials, along with members of the Darien Chamber of Commerce and others from the community, officially marked Goers Dental’s move with an open house Thursday evening, highlighted by the ribbon cutting.

After nearly three decades in Clarendon Hills, the office moved to Darien early this year because a new landlord wouldn’t extend its lease at the old location, said Judy Henriksen, who works in Goers Dentals’ business office.

But Goers and Henriksen both said the move has ended up being great for business.

“It just couldn’t have fell into a better place,” Henriksen said. The number of patients has increased 25 to 30 percent in the past eight months, she said.

Part of that is due to increased visibility on Route 83, she said, but it’s also a result of support from the city and community.

Goers shared her sentiments.

“The support of the local residents has been wonderful,” he said.

It may be the greater visibility that has brought new patients to Goers Dental, but Goers said it’s the quality dental work and friendly staff that keep them coming back.

“We dedicate our time to working on customer service,” he said.
