Heroin: Not My Kid Seminar At Darien Park District On Nov. 13

Darien Park District hosts Heroin: Not My Kid on Nov. 13 to teach parents, students, and teachers about the nation's heroin epidemic.

DARIEN, IL — America's heroin epidemic seems to get worse every year; it claimed more than 60,000 lives in 2016. To raise awareness and give parents tools to empower their children against the temptation of drugs, Darien Park District is hosting Heroin: Not My Kid on Monday, Nov. 13.

The seminar, which is open to the public, will be hosted by Rep. Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) and Rep. Patti Bellock (R-Hinsdale) and will include presentations from DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin and DuPage County Coroner Dr. Rich Jorgenson.

Heroin: Not My Kid is geared to inform parents, educators, and children about the widespread effects of the heroin epidemic and its effects on families, communities, and individuals.
