Hinsdale Central Girls' Golf Team Wins First Place at State Championship

Freshman Roshannah Gaur placed eighth as an individual.

Hinsdale Township High School District 86 today proudly announced that the Hinsdale Central High School Girls’ Golf Team took first place at the IHSA State Tournament held this past weekend at Hickory Point Golf Club in Decatur.

This is the first State tournament win for the Girls’ Golf Team at Hinsdale Central. The team took third place at the State Tournament in 2013.

“The girls played wonderfully,” said Coach Nick Latorre. “They really came together as a team, I’m so proud of the way they played downstate. We had a really successful season, winning every match.”

Latorre continued, “We finished third last year at State and the experience they brought back from that was extremely helpful. They built the foundation for what was accomplished this year.

We are a very balanced team with a lot of depth, they share good team chemistry and play for each other. I can’t say enough about the effort that all 10 girls made.”

The team roster includes: Roshannah Gaur, Selina Zeng, Jessica Lee, Danielle Smith, Erin Bruns, Maria Harrast, Jahanavi Gaur, Miranda Mocklow, Stephanie Spitzer and Riya Uppal.

Assistant Coaches Dale Wong and Judi Jolicoeur assisted Head Golf Coach Nick Latorre.
