Hinsdale D-86 Watchdog Group Disbands For Now
The group says it didn't draw enough delegates to ensure a cross-section of the district.
DARIEN, IL – A group that had planned to endorse candidates in next April's Hinsdale High School District 86 election has decided to disband.
D86 Caucus announced the move Monday morning. It has existed off and on since the mid-1970s.
The group has said it does not remain involved past the endorsement phase.

In a news release, D86 Caucus said it drew a number of people who volunteered to serve as delegates. But the group did not attract enough volunteers to ensure it represented a cross-section of the district, which includes Hinsdale, Burr Ridge, Darien, Willowbrook and other towns, according to the release.
D86 Caucus plans to return for the 2025 election, but do so earlier in the year. It also plans to seek local feedback on its bylaws, which have been unchanged for many years.

"With a significant reputation for excellence, District 86 deserves a Board that operates at the highest performing level as a unified group to serve our students," the news release said.
The group provided its email address for those who are interested in the 2025 effort.
