Hinsdale Police Reports: Burglary, Theft, Drug Possession
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through Feb. 17.

Someone tried to deposit five checks, totaling $33,300, between Jan. 20 and 21 at Hinsdale Bank & Trust, but the five checks were returned, “unable to locate account,” according to Hinsdale police.
Riceardo R Densen, age 22 of the 4100 block of South Drexel Boulevard, Chicago, attempted to cash a bad check Feb. 11 for $4,610, but the account holder of the check said she didn’t endorse the check, according to Hinsdale police. Densen was charged with forgery and released to appear in court.

Someone bought a car engine and transmission online, but when he inspected the engine, the VIN had been removed, according to Hinsdale police.
A burglar stole a grill, a home theater projector and a stereo receiver between Feb. 11 and 13 from a house under construction in the 5800 block of South Washington Street, according to Hinsdale police. There were no signs of forced entry, and the stolen items were valued at $3,725.

A male juvenile, age 15 of Clarendon Hills, was arrested Feb. 13 from Hinsdale Central High School for possession of a controlled substance, according to Hinsdale police. He had a substance that field tested positive for LSD, police reported. He was charged and released to a parent.
Someone stole $360 on Feb. 16 from an apartment on North Washington Street, according to Hinsdale police. The apartment was unlocked at the time the money went missing and there were no signs of forced entry, police reported.
Someone put a white powdery substance on a Hinsdale Hospital employee’s car between Feb. 13 and 14 while the car was parked in the employee garage, according to Hinsdale police. The substance reportedly caused damage to the paint when it was washed off.
