Hinsdale Police Reports: DUI, Drug Possession, Car Burglary

Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through March 17.

Erick A. Rivas, age 18 of the 1900 block of South 57th Court, Cicero, was arrested March 11 after he was stopped for speeding at Ogden Avenue and York Road, according to Hinsdale police. The arresting officer found cannabis and alcohol in the car. Rivas was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of alcohol by person under 21, speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle, police reported.

Someone made two fraudulent charges between Feb. 16 and 26 using a victim’s credit card information, according to Hinsdale police. The charges totaled $2,027.26.

Someone damaged two light fixtures between March 10 and 11 in a driveway in the 900 block of South County Line Road, according to Hinsdale police. The fixtures were valued at $450.

Someone tried to file tax returns using a victim’s information Feb. 19, according to Hinsdale police.

Paul M Williams, age 40 of the 900 block of Stanton Drive, Naperville, was arrested March 14 at 55th Street and Garfield for drunken driving, according to Hinsdale police. He was stopped for speeding and improper lane use, and he was seen to be under the influence of alcohol. Williams submitted to testing that showed he was over the legal limit, police reported. He was charged with DUI, DUI over 0.08, speeding and improper lane use, and he was released to appear in court.

Someone smashed the passenger windows of two parked cars March 14 in the 600 block of West Ogden, according to Hinsdale police. The burglar stole a purse and cigarettes from one car and a wallet from the second car, police reported.

Someone smeared mud on a garage door and lit a newspaper on fire between March 14 and 15 on a front porch in the 600 block of South Bruner Street, according to Hinsdale police.

Nicholas Casillas-Arellano, age 55 of the 3000 block of 141st Place, Blue Island, was arrested March 14 for drunken driving in the 200 block of East Third Street, according to Hinsdale police. Casillas-Arellano backed into a parked car, and he was seen to be under the influence of alcohol, police reported. He submitted to testing that showed he was over the legal limit. He was charged with DUI, DUI over 0.08, improper backing, operating an uninsured vehicle, and he was released to appear in court.

Marisa N Franco, age 18 of Gloucester Way North, Oak Brook, was arrested March 14 for possession of controlled substance at Ogden Avenue and York Road, according to Hinsdale police. Franco was stopped for not wearing a seatbelt during a traffic enforcement initiative, police reported, and the smell of burnt cannabis came from her car. She had substances that field tested positive for cannabis and LSD. Franco was charged and transported to DuPage County Jail.

William Anthony Garippo, age 19 of the 300 block of Malden Avenue, La Grange Park, was arrested March 14 for possession of cannabis at Ogden Avenue and Madison Avenue, according to Hinsdale police. Garippo was stopped for equipment violation during a traffic enforcement initiative, police reported, and he had a substance that field tested positive for cannabis and drug paraphernalia. He was charged and released to appear in court.

Someone stole a catalytic converter from a parked car between March 14 and 15 in the Colonial Gardens Parking lot on South Madison, according to Hinsdale police. The cost of the damage is estimated at $1,000.
