Hinsdale Police Reports: DUI, Theft, Property Damage

Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through Dec. 30.

A patient at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital reported his wallet was missing between Dec. 23 and 25, according to Hinsdale police. The wallet contained $350 cash, credit cards and identification.

Police were called Dec. 26 to a condemned abandoned warehouse at 540 W Ogden Ave., where it was reported seven or eight juveniles were in the alley. Police found a door was forced open and fire extinguishers were on the floor. Wet shoe prints were found through the building, but police didn’t find the suspects.

Window screens were removed Dec. 26 and the Internet cable line was cut at a house in the 500 block of Justina Street, according to Hinsdale police.

Kathleen Rose Buis, age 31 of 4032 N Washington, Westmont, was arrested Dec. 27 for driving under the influence, according to Hinsdale police. Buis was stopped in the 500 block of W 55th Street for speeding an improper lane use. She was observed to be under the influence, and she refused BAC testing, according to Hinsdale police. She was charged and released to appear in court.

Mark G Callaghan, age 51 of 6616 Oscola Trl, Indian Head Park, was arrested Dec. 28 for driving under the influence, according to Hinsdale police. He was stopped at 55th Street and Taft Road for speeding and improper lane use. He submitted to BAC testing that showed he was over the legal limit. Callaghan was charged and released to appear in court.

Richard A Tomich, age 70 of 16W720 57th St, Clarendon Hills was arrested Dec. 27 for driving under the influence, according to Hinsdale police. Tomich was stopped in the 600 block of W 55th Street for improper lane use and driving slowly. He submitted to BAC testing, and he was released. Charges are pending the lab results.

A thief pried open a tool box between Dec. 27 and 29 and stole a remote control valued at $2,700, according to Hinsdale police. The tool box was attached to a trailer in a parking lot at the Hinsdale Community Pool.
