Someone painted graffiti Oct. 3 around 1 a.m. on the Hinsdale Water Tower on 57th Street. The graffiti was also on the sidewalk and a shed next to the tower, according to Hinsdale police.

A victims social security number was used to file a tax return, according to Hinsdale police. The identity theft took place Oct. 14 around midnight.
A driver hit a parked car Oct. 16, between 11 a.m. and 12:34 p.m. on the 10 block of W First Street. The driver left the scene without leaving information, a witness told Hinsdale police.
An elderly person’s bank account was exploited Oct. 17, according to Hinsdale police. Someone reported the suspicious bank activity to police, and the case is pending.
A thief stole two memorial plaques between Oct. 8 and 18 from the fountain at Burlington Park, according to Hinsdale police. The thief also damaged a third plaque. The cost to replace the stolen and damaged plaques is about $1,600.
A thief stole an unlocked bike Oct. 18 from the bike racks at Hinsdale Central High School, according to Hinsdale police. The bike was found later at Burns Field. The bike was valued at less than $500.
An attempted burglary on Oct. 20 on the 100 block of N Clay Street was reported to Hinsdale police. The side door of the house was damaged and jammed in what looked like an attempt to enter the house. The victims were not home at the time, according to Hinsdale police. There weren’t signs that the burglar had made it into the house.
