Hinsdale Police Reports: Identity Theft, Suspicious Person, Fraud

Someone opened five credit card accounts Jan. 27 using a victim’s identity, according to Hinsdale police.

Someone applied for credit cards Jan. 27 using a victim’s information, according to Hinsdale police.

A car thief drove away with a black 2010 Lexus RX350 between Jan. 27 and 28 in the 600 block of West 7th Street, according to Hinsdale police. The car was unlocked and the key was inside the car when it was stolen. The estimated value of the car is $45,000, police reported.

A suspicious person asked an 11-year-old boy if he needed a ride Jan. 27 at the Hinsdale Community House at 415 West 8th Street, according to Hinsdale police. The person is described as a white man in his 20s driving a black Jeep.

Someone used a victim’s identity to file and electronic tax return to the IRS in Oct. 2014, according to Hinsdale police.

Eric Bunt, age 64 of 715 Justina, Hinsdale, was arrested for driving with a revoked license, according to Hinsdale police. Police were investigating a car crash that involved Bunt, and they found his driver’s license had been revoked, police reported. Bunt was charged and released to appear in court.

Pamela Davis, age 47 of 2412 Scoville Ave., Berwyn, was arrested Jan. 29 for theft, according to Hinsdale police. Employees at Larsen Eye Center on West First Street reported Davis stole a pair of glasses Jan. 28 from a display case, police reported. Davis was arrested the next day when she returned to the store. The glasses are Tiffany & Company brand, valued at $468.

Someone opened a Comcast account with an unfamiliar address between July 1, 2013 and Nov. 22, 2014, according to Hinsdale police. The crime was reported Jan. 31, 2015.

A painting company was paid to work on a home but has not done the work, according to Hinsdale police. The crime occurred between Aug. 16, 2014 and Jan. 31, 2015, and it was reported Jan. 31.
