Hinsdale Police Reports: Indecent Exposure, DUI, Burglary
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through Jan. 26.

A burglar stole a wallet from one unlocked car between Jan. 21 and 22, and he entered another unlocked car in a driveway in the 100 block of The Lane, according to Hinsdale police. The wallet had $35 and a $25 gift card inside.
Rosavita Leone Plati, age 34 of 5525 26th St., Berwyn, was arrested Jan. 23 for driving under the influence, according to Hinsdale police. Police went to 55th Street and Interstate 294 where a car had driven off the road. Plati refused BAC testing. She had two small children in the back seat. She was charged with endangering the life of a child, DUI, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving off the roadway, driving an uninsured vehicle and not having her driver’s license with her, according to Hinsdale police.

Someone drove away with a car Jan. 24 in the 600 block of South Bruner Street, according to Hinsdale police. The person got into an unlocked car parked in a driveway, and the key was inside the car. The victim saw the car thief jump out of the car as it was moving when he came to a dead end, police reported. The man fled on foot.
Jessica B Augustinas, age 25 of 1235 Holmstead Road, La Grange Park, was arrested Jan. 24 for DUI at Route 83 and 31st Street, according to Hinsdale police. Police stopped Augustinas for improper lane use, and she seemed to be under the influence of alcohol. She submitted to testing that showed she was over the legal limit, police reported. Augustinas was charged with DUI, DUI over .08 and improper lane use, according to Hinsdale police.

A 16-year-old male juvenile was arrested Jan. 23 for possession of cannabis, according to Hinsdale police. The juvenile was stopped for walking on railroad tracks at Adams Street and Burlington Northern Railroad Tracks, and he was in possession of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for cannabis, police reported. He was charged and released to appear in court.
A burglar stole construction tools Jan. 24 from a house in the 400 block of East Hickory Street that is under construction, according to Hinsdale police. The tools were valued at $360.
A man exposed himself Jan. 26 to an office employee while inside an elevator in the 900 block of North Elm Street, according to Hinsdale police.
Michael J Young, age 36 of 6610 Main Street, Downers Grove, and Jack S Spangenberg, age 35 of 210 Butternut, Bolingbrook, were arrested Jan. 26 for criminal trespass to property and theft under $500, according to Hinsdale police. Police went to the 400 block of Chestnut for a burglary in progress, and the two men were seen on railroad property with Burlington Northern Equipment, police reported. They were charged and released to appear in court.
