Hinsdale Police Reports: Scam, Theft, Arrests for Catalytic Converter Theft
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through Feb. 10

Someone claimed to be an agent of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on Feb. 4 to convince a victim to buy $3,900.95 worth of prepaid debit cards to resolve a warrant, according to Hinsdale police.
Four high school-age boys approached an 8-year-old boy at 3:15 Feb. 6 in the 200 block of East 9th Street and offered him a ride home, according to Hinsdale police. The boys were in a silver full-sized pickup truck, police reported.

Someone stole $970-worth of cosmetic products Feb. 6 from Walgreens on Grant Square, according to Hinsdale police. The thief is described as a woman wearing a black coat, blue jeans, black shoes, long brown hair in a ponytail and carrying a shoulder bang, police reported.
A witness saw a school bus hit a parked car and leave the scene without stopping Feb. 9 at 15 Spinning Wheel Road, according to Hinsdale police.

Marie Frances Kucera, age 24 of 3 Bay Rum Court, Burr Ridge, was arrested Feb. 7 and charged with possession of controlled substance, according to Hinsdale police. Todd J Tomisek, age 37 of 138 North Grant Street, Westmont, was also arrested Feb. 7 and charged with possession of controlled substance, police reported. The two were seen inside the train depot when the doors are normally locked, and they had a white powdery substance that field tested positive for a controlled substance, according to Hinsdale police. They were charged and brought to DuPage County Jail.
Someone reported a steel grate missing between Feb. 6 and 7 from a parking lot on Spinning Wheel Road, according to Hinsdale police. The grate is valued at $500.
Glenn B McKernan, age 40 of 468 Bradford Place, Bolingbrook, was arrested Feb. 9 for possession of an essential vehicle part, according to Hinsdale police. Dawn M Pokosa, age 32 of 468 Bradford Place, Bolingbrook, was arrested Feb. 9 and charged with possession of an essential vehicle part and driving with a license revoked, police reported. A Burr Ridge police detective saw someone in the Hinsdale Hospital Parking Garage crawl under a car and remove the catalytic converter, according to Hinsdale police. McKernan and Pokosa had a bag containing saw blades, a battery charger and a reciprocating saw, police reported. They were charged and brought to DuPage County Jail.
