Hinsdale Police Reports: Theft, Drug Possession, DUI

The information in the following reports is courtesy of the Hinsdale Police Department.

An attempted burglar broke the lock and door handle of a car Dec. 8 in the Hinsdale Middle School parking lot, according to Hinsdale police.

A thief stole three packages Dec. 8 from the front porch of a house on the 10 block of East Walnut, according to Hinsdale police. The packages were valued at $335.

Landscaping services in the 400 block of East 9th Street were not paid for after checks were returned Nov. 8 for insufficient funds, according to Hinsdale police.

A woman reported the theft of her silverware set, worth $3,000, from her home on the 5700 Block of Giddings, according to Hinsdale police. The theft took place between Oct. 1 and Dec. 10, when the victim had workers at her house.

A thief stole a catalytic converter Dec. 13 from a car parked in the Hinsdale Hospital Parking Garage, according to Hinsdale police. The cost to replace the part was $1,334.58.

Hinsdale police arrested Leah Elizabeth Cannon, age 26 of 3077 N Davlin Court, Chicago, on Dec. 14 for driving under the influence. Police stopped Cannon on the 200 block of West 55th Street at 3:19 a.m. for improper lane use and a signal violation, according to Hinsdale police. Police report she appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, and she refused BAC testing.

A 15-year-old boy from Clarendon Hills was arrested Dec. 9 from Hinsdale Central High School for possession of a controlled substance, according to Hinsdale police. He was charged with possession of controlled substance, possession of controlled substance, possession of cannabis, and he was released to a parent, according to police.
