Hinsdale Police Reports: Theft, Hole Cut in Trampoline, DUI, Attempted Burglary
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through Dec. 9.

A thief stole packages between Nov. 26 to Nov. 29 from a front porch on the 5700 block of S Grant Street, according to Hinsdale police. The packages were worth $174.
A thief stole a catalytic converter Dec. 3 from a car parked at the Whole Foods on E Ogden Avenue, according to Hinsdale police.

Someone cut a whole in a trampoline between Nov. 28 and Dec. 6, according to Hinsdale police. The trampoline was in a fenced-in backyard in the 600 block of W Hickory Street.
Hinsdale police arrested Patrick S Temple, age 18 of 8557 W 43rd St, Lyons, on Dec. 6 for possession of cannabis and speeding more than 35 mph over the limit, according to police. Temple was stopped for speeding at 55th Street and Monroe Street. Police found cannabis in his possession, and he was charged and released to appear in court.

Hinsdale police arrested Joseph A Mistal, age 22 of 21W150 Glen Park Road, Lombard, on Dec. 7 for driving under the influence, according to police. Mistal was stopped for driving with a flat tire and his tail lights were out. Police saw Mistal was under the influence of alcohol, and he failed sobriety testing, according to police. Mistal was charged with DUI, DUI over .08, use of unsafe tire and operating an uninsured vehicle, police reported.
A thief stole a wallet Dec. 6 from the purse of a woman visiting a patient at Hinsdale Hospital, according to Hinsdale police. The wallet had $350 cash inside it, and the wallet was valued at $20.
Someone used a victim’s identity Dec. 1 to open a bank account, according to Hinsdale police.
Someone damaged two passenger-side tires between Dec. 6 and 7 on a car parked at the Hinsdale Community House, according to Hinsdale police. The damage is estimated at $300.
Two men went into Spinning Wheel Apartments on Dec. 8 and tried to break into an apartment, according to Hinsdale police. The apartment’s resident came home and confronted the men, and the men ran away.
