Hinsdale South's Prom Up In The Air
Venue is requiring proof of vaccination from participants.
DARIEN, IL — Hinsdale South High School's prom venue is requiring that students show proof of vaccination to take part this year — a rule that is likely to anger opponents of such mandates.
South's prom is set for April 30 at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
Chris Jasculca, spokesman for Hinsdale High School District 86, confirmed the vaccination requirement for prom. He also said the school was considering other venues.

As of this week, 58 percent of South students are vaccinated, compared with 81 percent at Hinsdale Central.
This week, Hinsdale Central was advised by its prom venue, Chicago's Field Museum, that it was requiring proof of vaccination. Central, too, is looking at alternate sites, though said it may stick with the museum.
