Hinsdale South's Successes Over Weekend

Honors go to speech team, bowlers, wrestlers, dancers and basketball players.

DARIEN, IL — Hinsdale South High School's speech team set a school record over the weekend at regionals by qualifying for the sectional tournament in all 15 of the individual events, according to a school district Facebook post. The team also won three individual championships.

According to the post, here are the other Hinsdale South successes over the weekend:

  • Varsity girls bowling qualified as a team for sectionals after finishing in second place at the regional tournament. The Hornets were led by senior Jaultiana Brown (second place) and junior Jennifer Cleghorn (fourth place).
  • Six wrestlers from South qualified for sectionals, including Glen Hogan, Oscar Choi, Trent Ferguson, Max Waszkiewicz, Josh Ririe and Griffin Carr. Hogan also won an individual championship during the regional tournament.
  • South's danceline team had all four of its routines qualify for the Illinois Drill Team Association’s state finals.
  • The boys basketball team moved its record on the season to 25-2, and coach Brett Moore got his 200th win.
