Hit And Run, Warrant Arrests: Darien Police Blotter

The following information is from the Darien Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Retail Theft

At 3:53 p.m. on Sept. 12 an officer was dispatched to Walmart, 2189 75th St. for a retail theft. A review of store video by loss prevention showed at 3:40 p.m. a male offender with miscellaneous
household items exited without making payment. The total loss was $435.76.

Criminal Damage to Property

At 8:05 p.m. on Sept. 13 an officer was dispatched to the 1500 block of Pineview Court for a criminal damage to property report. The victim advised sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. an unknown offender damaged the mailbox. The approximate loss was $1,500.

Theft $500 and Under

At 10:11 a.m. on Sept. 15 an officer was dispatched to the 7600 block of Nantucket Drive for a theft. Stolen was a package by an unknown offender. The victim was advised a package was delivered on Aug. 15 at 1:33 p.m. The loss was $50.

Theft of Lost or Mislaid Property

At 5:13 p.m. on Sept. 13 an officer was dispatched to Jewel, 7335 Cass Ave. for a theft of lost or mislaid property incident. The victim advised between 4:30 p.m. and 5:13 p.m. their wallet was left at the self-check area and was unable to locate upon returning. The approximate loss is unknown.

Warrant Arrest

At 1:34 a.m. on Sept. 13 officers arrested Antoine Jackson, 40, of Chicago on a warrant out of DuPage County. Jackson was transported to DuPage County Jail for processing.

Warrant Service

At 8:25 p.m. on Sept. 16 an officer was dispatched to Darien Police Department, 1710 Plainfield Road for a warrant service. Alexander Dobrovetsky, 27, of Skokie was arrested for a failure to appear traffic warrant from DuPage County.

Hit and Run

At 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 an officer was dispatched to a hit and run accident at Jewel/Osco, 7329 Cass Ave. The victim observed a black GMC pick-up driven by a female exit a parking space and strike victim’s vehicle. A male occupant switched places with the female offender and drove vehicle out of parking lot.
