Hornet Swim Club Success at Fox Fall Splash!
The Hornet Swim Club started off the 2017-18 season with strong results at the Fox Fall Splash meet held on October 21st and 22nd, 2017.
The Hornet Swim Club competed in the Fox Valley Swim Club “Fall First Splash” over the weekend of October 21st and 22nd. The Club recorded a number of strong overall finishes and had a total of six team records fall at the event. Results included:
Matt Vatev: 1st place for 9-year old boys.
Luke Vatev: 1st place for 8-year old boys.

Oleksandr (Sasha) Rozdolskyy: 2nd place for 9-year old boys.
Mia Rogers: 2nd place for 9-year old girls.

Josie Szopko: 2nd place for 6-year old girls.
Emily Weingust: 3rd place for 9-year old girls.
In addition to their first place overall achievement, the Vatev brothers rewrote the Hornet Record Book with six new individual records. Luke Vatev set four new team records (a couple of them his brother Matt’s) in the 8 and under times and Matt Vatev set two new team records in the 9-10 age group. Congrats to all Hornet swimmers on an awesome start to the season!
