This House Bothers Some In Darien
Darien alderman wonders what can be done about the house in question.
DARIEN, IL — A house on 73rd Street apparently bothers some Darien residents. But there's little that Darien can do about it because it's outside city limits and in DuPage County's unincorporated area.
At this week's City Council meeting, Ward 3 Alderman Joseph Kenny told his colleagues that he had received a complaint about the house at 18W100 73rd Street. "If it were incorporated in town, there would be violations forever. The roof is bad, the grass is really tall. Is there anything we can do with the county?" he said. "Obviously, our residents have to pass it getting to their homes."
Dan Gombac, the city's municipal services director, said the city could reach out to the county government.
