It's not necessary to tell you teenagers are known to be a little more sassier, sarcastic, etc. But, I think most parents would be surprised (or in my experience, some don't even care) at how their children interact with not even each other, but adults.
In fact, I will use multiple examples of teenagers I have seen being rude (not naming names). One example of bad behavior towards the teacher is this: my class was expected to go to the computer lab to finish work. This person had gotten there and signed into the computer. The computer was being either slow or not reacting at all (note: there were numerous other computers in the lab to sign into) and the person started banging at the keys, frustrated. When the librarian asked this person what was wrong, he or she yelled at the librarian, saying that he or she needs to get their work done, without listening to the librarian trying to calm him or her down.
This wasn't the librarians fault. The computer didn't work, simply because it was technology and sometimes things don't work out when we depend on technology. It frustrates me that this wasn't the only thing that this person has done that was disrespectful to adults. However, I will move on to another person and his or her disrespect towards his or her friends (I'll switch to collective pronouns though, because singular ones are annoying. Don't find me illiterate because of it.)
This person is a mutual friend of mine, although their disrespect ergs me. They constantly talk behind their friends' backs and call them mean things to their faces. Yes, this can be seen as a joke, but at what point does that joke stop? And will the friend have the guts and courage to actually stop their friend from making such comments (that being, if they find out).
People: educate your selfs in how to CONTROL your emotions. Get therapy. Talk to people. Listen to music. That's all for today, South. Keep it cool.
