Ide Teachers are “Ba Da Ba Ba Bah, Lovin' it” at McDonald's

Elizabeth Ide School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to raise money for the school.

Darien| Elizabeth Ide School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to raise money for the school.

Administration, Teachers, Support Staff, and PTO board members from Elizabeth Ide Elementary school all volunteered behind the counter on Tuesday, January 28th, 2020, at the Darien McDonald's on Plainfield Road, where they served students and their families in a FUNdraising event.

Elizabeth Ide staff members and volunteers worked various jobs throughout the restaurant during this three-hour event. These jobs included, wearing an apple pie costume, apple pie seller, kiosk worker, front counter helper, delivering meals to customers, calling out orders, and working the drive-thru.

The restaurant was busy the entire night and the children and staff had an amazing time. The children especially loved seeing their teachers dressed up in an apple pie costume and selling pies to the families. Many pictures were taken and great memories were made.

The proceeds from the sales of 265 Apple Pies sold went directly to benefit The Elizabeth Ide PTO, in addition to twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales. McDonald's Owner/Operator Nick Kory donated a case of Apple Pies to the school for this FUNdraising event.

Inspired by the success of McTeacher's Night, Kory Management has set its sights on partnering with other schools in the area.

"Everyone who rolled up their sleeves in support of this event" is the fabric that strengthens our community." Kory said.

Thank you to Elizabeth Ide PTO Vice President, Sarah Rajki for organizing the entire event.
