The Indian Prairie Public Library will host a STEM exploration activity for kids in grades 5-7 with an adult.

DARIEN, IL — The Indian Prairie Public Library will host a STEM exploration activity for kids in grades 5-7 with an adult. The exSTEMaganza will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 15, in the Hinsdale South High School auditorium, located at 7401 Clarendon Hills Road, in Darien.

According to a release, participants will work in teams to build a reaction contraption, then teams will combine contraptions to create a larger scale Rube Goldberg-like phenomenon. The library said the event will provide opportunity to learn the engineering design process, develop team-building experience, and practice STEM skills.

Interested participants can fill out an application at http://stem.ippl.info/. Applications must be returned to the Kids & Teens Department at Indian Prairie Public Library by Friday, May 26. Space is limited so not all applicants will be selected to participate. Selected applicants will be notified by June 2.
