Teens
Library staff is hosting a Zoom from 10 a.m.- noon to answer any questions teens may have about volunteering virtually, and to provide guidance for getting volunteer hours via the library or in the community.

Teens also are encouraged to work on volunteer projects of their own; the library will sign off on any hours completed, so long as proof of volunteering is provided.
Kindness Rock Project
Monday, Jan. 18, 10 a.m.
Families and grades 1-6.
It's the 26th anniversary of the Day of Service that celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr.'s, life and legacy. Pick up a kit to make kindness rocks. Each kit includes two rocks, paint, a brush, and quotes from Martin Luther King, Jr., and other leaders. Project supplies are from 10 a.m.- noon inside the main entrance or call 630/887-0718 in advance to pick them up at the drive-up window.
Online Book Club: Convenience Store Woman
Wednesday, Jan. 20, 7 p.m.
Adults
Join in discussing Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata. In this surprising and heartwarming story set in contemporary Japan, a woman who has been working at a convenience store for 18 years, much to the disappointment of her family, finds friendship with an alienated, cynical, and bitter young man who becomes her coworker.
This program is part of the Ignite Change series.
Thursday, Jan. 21, 7 p.m.
Hear directly from a publisher about the hottest forthcoming books. This program features a representative from Sourcebooks. Some recent popular titles include The Mystery of Mrs. Christie by Marie Benedict, The Last Flight by Julie Clark, and The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson.
