Indian Prairie Library Plans 'Food For Fines'
Food For Fines will run from Dec. 1 through Dec. 9.

DARIEN, IL — If you're looking to pay some of those library fines, you can do so by donating a food or personal care item to the Indian Prairie Library's Food for Fines program. The library said non-perishable food and personal care items can be donated, and the library will waive $1 of fines owed for each item donated.
Food For Fines will run from Dec. 1 through Dec. 9.
All items collected will be distributed to food pantries at Our Lady Peace and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Darien. The library said suggested donations include boxed, canned and shelf-stable foods; toilet paper, tissues and paper towels; and toothpaste, shampoo and deodorant.
