IPPL teen intern assisted with summer technology classes
Internship funded by 2016 Young Adult Library Services Association/Dollar General Summer Teen Intern Grant

Did you know that the Indian Prairie Public Library taught at least five technology classes for kids and teens every week this summer?! We presented four Coding Club classes to 1st-6th graders and a Hacking Electronics program for teens in grades 7-12. These classes were planned and presented by our Youth Technology Librarian, Tyler Works, and our Teen Summer Intern, Adrian Herath.
The library was able to hire Adrian, a Hinsdale South High School senior, because we were awarded the 2016 Young Adult Library Services Association/Dollar General Summer Teen Intern Grant. The internship lasted for eight weeks, from June through August, and Adrian worked about 10-12 hours per week.
