Good Friday Craigslist Robbery Outside Darien Church: Cops

Two suspects stole jewelry during a Craigslist deal in a Darien parking lot.

DARIEN, IL - Two suspects stole a diamond bracelet from a woman in a Darien church parking lot in a Craigslist deal gone wrong, according to police. Police said the victim had set up the Craigslist deal to take place at about 5:50 p.m. on April 14 at Lord of Life Church, 725 75th St., in Darien. The deal also happened to right before a Good Friday service at the church.

According to police, a female suspect showed up to the deal with a male friend, and when the victim showed them the jewelry, the male suspect grabbed it and both suspects ran west towards an apartment complex.

The female suspect is described as being in her early 20s with possibly dyed reddish-brown hair. She is 5'2" to 5'4" with a thin build, and she was wearing a blue and white striped shirt with blue jeans, police said.

Police said the male suspect is in his 20s, 5'2" to 5'4" with a thin build. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and possibly a gray baseball cap.

The victim was not injured, police said.
