Major Cop Response For Darien Burglary

A burglary occurred in a local residential neighborhood, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police said they responded Thursday morning to a burglary in the 2700 block of Woodmere Drive.

In a text alert, the police said that "out of an abundance of caution," officers from neighboring jurisdictions and a multi-agency SWAT team assisted.

The burglary was reported to have occurred about 9 a.m. in a neighborhood that is along Lemont Road, north of Plainfield Road.

"At this time we do not have anyone in custody and our investigators are following up on leads," Deputy Chief Jason Norton said in an email to Patch on Friday morning. "We don’t know all that might have been taken at this point."

No one was home when the burglary occurred, he said.
