Man Accused Of Assault At Darien Eatery: Cops

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving assault and DUI. Here is information from the reports:

Assault

• A 52-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 11:30 a.m. June 19 at Aodake Sushi and Steak, 2129 75th St., on an assault charge. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Suspicious

• An officer saw a man riding a bicycle toward CVS Pharmacy at 87th Street and Woodward Avenue about 1:30 a.m. June 20. The man then was by the propane tanks next to CVS, which was closed at the time. Police said a knife was found on the man's waistband and the sheath opened. The 37-year-old Woodridge man was arrested on a Will County warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

• A 64-year-old Darien man who lives in the 1600 block of Wildwood Lane was arrested about 10 a.m. Friday in the parking lot at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a DUI charge. Police were called because the man appeared to be passed out in his car. The car was running, and an open can of Icehouse beer was found near the man. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
• A 40-year-old Darien man who lives in the 7100 block of Clarendon Hills Road was arrested about 5:30 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of Plainfield Road on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, speeding and driving an uninsured car. Police said he was speeding 52 mph in a 40 mph zone. They also said he nearly struck a curb and came to an abrupt stop. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
• A 63-year-old Darien man who lives in the 1400 block of Coventry Court was arrested shortly after midnight Tuesday in the 8100 block of Cass Avenue on charges of DUI, speeding, improper lane usage, improper turn and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Police said the man was speeding 60 mph in a 40 mph zone and was driving on the broken white lane line. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
