Man Accused Of Battery In Darien Neighborhood: Cops

In another case, a speeder ended up being arrested on a DUI charge, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Wednesday. Here is information from the reports:

Battery

  • Eugene Kasmer III, 41, of Chicago, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Friday in the 3200 block of Stewart Drive on a charge of battery. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

DUI

  • Marvin Coleman, 30, of Justice, was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday on charges of DUI, driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, speeding, improper turn at an intersection, failure to signal when required, driving an uninsured car and transportation of open alcohol. Police said Coleman was speeding 61 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 8300 block of northbound Cass Avenue. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Stolen bikes

  • Two bicycles were stolen between 6:30 a.m. May 7 and 7 p.m. May 15 from a ground-level balcony at an apartment building in the 7400 block of Brookdale Drive. The estimated loss was $400.
