Man Arrested for Armed Robbery at Darien Speedway
Nathaniel Noble is accused of committing a robbery July 22 at the Speedway gas station, and he is also charged in other armed robberies.

The Naperville Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with armed robberies at the Darien Speedway and in Naperville and Warrenville.
Nathaniel J. Noble, 18, of the 2700 block of Preston Court in Aurora, was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery, robbery, armed violence and aggravated assault for the robberies, according to a release from the department.

Noble is accused of committing a robbery at the Speedway gas station at 8301 Lemont Road in Darien on July 22 and the Speedway gas station at 3s405 Route 59 in Warrenville on July 26. Both robberies were committed in the middle of the night.
He is also accused of a robbery at around 3:40 a.m. July 21 at the Mobile gas station on 1304 Plainfield Naperville Road., as well as a robbery at 2:10 a.m. July 22 at the BP Amoco at 2888 Book Road.

During the investigation involving officials from Naperville, Darien, Warrenville, the Illinois State Police and the United States Marshall Service, Noble was identified as the prime suspect. At around 2 a.m. July 29, investigators followed Noble to a 7-Eleven located at 2 S. Lincolnway in North Aurora where he proceeded to rob the store at gunpoint. Noble was arrested outside the store. The gun he was carrying was a BB gun, and the clerk was uninjured.
Noble is detained at the Kane County Adult Justice Center, according to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office. His bond was set at $100,000.
Additional charges of aggravated robbery have been authorized through the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office for the Naperville and Darien robberies.
“The City of Darien and the Darien Police wish to recognize the efforts of all police personnel and their respective police agencies for committing resources to bring these crimes to a quick and safe resolution,” the village reported. “We are committed to working with and on behalf of the residents and businesses to keep Darien a safe community.”
