Man Charged in Willowbrook Shooting that Injured One

A struggle broke out Monday after a man tried to rob someone a gunpoint, officials say.

An Indiana man has been charged in a nonfatal shooting that happened Monday night in unincorporated Willowbrook.

Jeremy H. Harris, age 19 of South Bend Indiana, is charged with aggravated battery discharge of a firearm, attempted armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery – great bodily harm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon/no FOID, according to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the shooting around 9:15 p.m. Monday at the 16w500 block of Honeysuckle Lane. A struggle broke out after Harries tried to rob someone a gunpoint, the sheriff’s office reported.

The victim was shot in the struggle, and Harris ran away. He was apprehended shortly after the shooting. The investigation confirmed that the shooting was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.

The full amount of $50,000 must be paid for Harris’ bond.
