Man Ejaculates On Woman Shopping In Darien: County

DARIEN, IL — A Berwyn man has been charged with criminal sexual abuse after ejaculating on a woman at a Darien Salvation Army store, the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office said. Anthony Moreira, 29, appeared at a bond hearing on Friday where Judge Brian Telander set bond at $50,000 with 10 percent to apply. Moreira has also been charged with one count of aggravated battery and one count of burglary.

The State's Attorney's office said on June 30, Moreira allegedly approached a female shopper at the store while she was looking at clothing. He began to look at clothing near her and then ejaculated on the woman's left thigh and calf. Moreira then left the scene.

According to the Attorney's Office, the victim immediately alerted store personnel about the incident and contacted the Darien Police Department whose investigation led to Moreira. Moreira was taken into custody on Nov. 8 on a $100,000 arrest warrant.

“The charges against Mr. Moreira are, in a word, revolting,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a release. “I would like to thank the Darien Police Department not only for their outstanding police work identifying Mr. Moreira as a suspect in this case but also for their efforts that will allow us to bring a very strong prosecution against this defendant."

According to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office, Moreira was released from jail on Friday, Nov. 9. Moreira’s next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 14 for arraignment in front of Judge Telander.
