Man Steals From Darien Store And Then Crashes: Police
Suspect has warrants in other states, police say. He was taken to the county jail.
DARIEN, IL — A man had just stolen merchandise from Walmart in Darien when he got into an accident in Woodridge. Here is the information from the latest Darien police reports:
- Javaughn Tieh, 22, of 2947 Penn Ave., was arrested about 11 a.m. Sept. 17 on charges of forgery, theft and being a fugitive from justice. Woodridge police responded to an accident where a driver left behind a car with TVs and a computer with Walmart markings. Walmart in Darien confirmed it was looking into a theft of TVs and a computer that had just happened. Tieh was seen on video leaving the store without paying for the items. Tieh has warrants in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Arizona. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- Juan Enrique Navarrete-Lopez, 19, of Chicago, was cited at 5 p.m. Sept. 16 on Cass Avenue near South Frontage Road on charges of driving without a valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage. According to a police report, the suspect was stopped after he moved abruptly from the right lane to the left lane, causing another driver to move out of the way to avoid getting struck.
- Ronald Lilly, 28, of Darien, was cited about 9 p.m. Sept. 16 on Cass Avenue at Hinswood Drive on charges of driving with a suspended license and improper lighting. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Adan Alcantara Ruiz, 26, of Woodridge, was cited about 11 a.m. Sept. 18 at 71st Street and Cass Avenue on charges of no valid driver's license and no safety test. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
