Middle Grade Novelist Visits Darien Bookstore

DARIEN, IL — Wisconsin middle grade author Lora Hyler will introduce her novel at an event at Frugal Muse in Darien on Sept. 15. According to a release, "The Stupendous Adventures of Mighty Marty Hayes" features a 12-year-old African American superhero and a multicultural cast of friends, who work on CRISPR-Cas9 in their seventh grade advanced science classroom, and share a love of spy gadgets.

“It’s only fitting that I continue to tour Illinois and surrounding states, building on the excitement of my debut novel expressed at the inaugural Wakandacon, held in early August in downtown Chicago,” Hyler said in a release. “I love meeting kids who love science fiction and fantasy, as well as science, and the spy gadgets and history sprinkled throughout my novel keeps things moving.”

The visit to Frugal Muse will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15. The store is located at 7511 Lemont Road.
