Amanda Guarneri, 25, has been sentenced to six years in prison with the Illinois Department of Corrections for drug-induced homicide after sending heroin to Dane Carver, 26, who was also from New Jersey but staying in Darien at the time.
Carver was staying in an Extended Stay hotel while in the Chicago area on business, the State's Attorney's office said at the time. According to a release, he didn't show up for work, and co-workers asked the hotel to check on him. Officers found him unresponsive.
