'Not A Popular' Call On D-86 Graduations: Official
Both Central's and South's graduations went inside based on weather predictions.
DARIEN, IL – Hinsdale Central's and South's graduations on May 26 ended up being inside because of the expectation of bad weather. Many objected to the decision.
Jeff Waters, a Hinsdale High School District 86 board member, acknowledged the protests. But he said it was a tough call to make and that hindsight is 20-20.
"It was certainly not a popular thing that we didn't have it outside," Waters said at Thursday's board meeting. "It was not a light decision."
