A Darien resident since 1969, Ed was alderman of Ward 4 from 1977 to 1985 and served as the fire and police commissioner for three years. He was named Darien Citizen of the Year in 2000.
The man was a passenger in a car involved in an early-morning collision Saturday outside Palos Hills.
Barbara Murdza, 87, died Wednesday after being struck by a car backing out of a driveway on Roberts Road, police said.
Eugene Kolling, who helped shape Darien into the city it is today, died in his home Sunday surrounded by family. He was 87.
