Obstructing Justice, Residential Burglary, DUI: Darien Blotter

Residential Burglary
At 3:03 p.m. on May 8 an officer was dispatched to a burglary in the 7300 block of Sunrise Avenue.
At approximately 2:15 p.m. a middle-eastern male 20-30 wearing a baseball cap used ruse of needing to check water pipe. The resident was distracted by a subject possible second offender entered the home and removed jewelry. The approximate loss is unknown at this time.

Attempted Retail Theft
At 3 a.m. on May 9 an officer was dispatched to Walmart, 2189 75th St. for a retail theft in
progress later changed to an attempted retail theft. A store employee recognized the male white offender from a previous retail theft. The offender when confronted by the store employee left the building. Any loss is unknown at this time.

DUI
At 1:17 a.m. on May 10 an officer on patrol at northbound Cass Avenue at Plainfield Road observed
a vehicle southbound Cass Avenue change lanes without signaling. Ryanne Ponton, 41, of Park Forest was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, texting while driving, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor.
Obstructing Justice
At 8 a.m. on May 10 an officer on patrol in the 8400 block of Lemont Road observed a speeding vehicle in in the 8300 block of Lemont Road. Silvestre Chagala-Tadeo, 30, of Westmont was arrested for felony obstructing, driving while license suspended, illegal transportation of alcohol, speeding, operating uninsured motor vehicle and two warrants out of Cook County Sheriff’s office.
Burglary From Motor Vehicle
At 5:56 a.m. on May 15 an officer was dispatched to 100 block of 68th Street for a burglary from motor vehicle. Victim advised sometime between May 14 at 8 p.m. to May 15 at
5:50 a.m. unknown offender(s) entered the unlocked vehicle. The approximate loss was
$10 in change and a $5 knife (type unknown) no other information at this time.
At 5:56 a.m. on May 15 an officer was dispatched to 100 block of 68th Street for a burglary from motor vehicle. A check of the area revealed a burglary to an unlocked motor vehicle at 114 68th
Street between May 14 at 9 p.m. to May 15 at 5:50 a.m. The approximate
loss was $5 in change no other information at this time.
