Our Lady of Peace School hosted its annual First Responder’s Mass & Breakfast on Sept. 11 for students to express their respect and gratitude to the men and women who help keep our community safe. Local police and firefighters attended morning mass said by Fr. Mark Baron and then attended breakfast in the gymnasium. The children made cards and custom placemats for the breakfast and had the opportunity to personally greet and thank our special guests.

Items for the breakfast were generously donated by Brookhaven Marketplace, Downer’s Delight, Sylvia’s Bakery, Weber’s Bakery and OLP family members.

“This beautiful event is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a school family and celebrate our community heroes,” said Mrs. Kim Rich, principal at OLP. “It’s important for our students to understand the significance of service and caring for one another.”
