Police Respond To Car Theft, Find Another Stolen Car At Scene
Darien Police were responding to a report of a stolen car when they found a vehicle at the scene that was reported stolen in Chicago.

DARIEN, IL — Officers were responding to thefts of a stolen car in Darien when they found an unoccupied vehicle —that had also been reported stolen— at the scene. The incidents took place early Monday in the 7800 block of Darien Lake Dr.
The victim told police that her 2015 Volkswagen Passat had been stolen from the driveway of her home. Police say she went outside to warm up her car at approximately 7:25 a.m. and left it unlocked when she went back inside of her home. When the victim came back outside to get in the car, she saw her car had been stolen.
According to police, the victim's purse and $500 cash were also inside the vehicle.

While responding to this theft report, an officer noticed an unoccupied car that was still running. When the officer ran the plates for this vehicle, they discovered it had been reported stolen in Chicago. Darien Police then notified the Chicago Police Department, who said they would call the vehicle's owner.
