Darien|Prairieview students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the school’s new playground.
Thirty teachers and support staff from Prairieview volunteered behind the counter and at the Drive-Thru on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at the Darien McDonald's located on Plainfield Rd., where they served students and their families in a fundraiser. The bitter cold temperatures didn’t hinder the success of the night.
Teachers Olsen, Bryant, and Strong worked hard selling pies. While Teachers Klacza, Mandru, and Riadi took turns in the Pie Box costume. Principal Pagel was at the event the entire night talking with families and taking lots of pictures with the kids and assisting in pie sales all while keeping the energy at a very high level.

The proceeds from the 326 pies sold went directly to benefit the Prairieview playground. A percentage of the proceeds from the McTeacher's Night sales were also donated directly to Prairieview. The school plans to put the money raised to help fund the new playground build this spring.
Nick Kory, Owner/Operator of the Darien McDonald's is delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.
