Preserving Local History at Indian Prairie Public Library

National Preservation Week is April 22-28

Celebrate National Preservation Week by exploring our communities’ local history!

Indian Prairie Public Library partners with the Darien Historical Society, the Flagg Creek Heritage Society, as well as local residents, businesses, and municipalities to share the histories of Darien, Burr Ridge, and Willowbrook online. Go to localhistory.ippl.info to view digital photo albums of historical people and places, or take a look at “then and now” views of buildings overlaid on Google Street maps. You can also read local history blog posts and share your memories. Don't forget to visit the Darien Historical Society’s Old Lace Schoolhouse Museum and Flagg Creek Heritage Society’s Museum and Robert Vial House to see their archives and to thank them for their efforts to collect and preserve our local heritage.
